There is a race set before every born-again Christian. Race, a contest between runners to see which is the fastest. Runners here means the born-again Christians and the fastest refers to the person that gets to heaven. Did you know that there are rewards and ranks in the kingdom of Heaven? In the book of Mattew 5, Jesus taught his disciples and the crowds.
Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me because great is your reward in heaven.
Therefore, anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands, and also takes lowly position of a child (Matt 18:4) will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
